SYNOD is the governing body of the Anglican Church.

For the Anglican Church of Canada it is referred to as General Synod.  Each of the Ecclesiastical Provinces has a Provincial Synod.  Each Diocese has a Diocesan Synod.

This Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island hold a Diocesan Synod normally every second year and is governed by the Constitution of Diocesan Synod.

Diocesan Council does the work of Diocesan Synod in between synods.
